FCI Thermal Mass Flow Meters

Fluid Components International (FCI) designs and manufactures thermal mass flow meters, flow switches and level switches for industrial process measurement applications utilizing patented thermal dispersion flow measurement technologies.

FCI Thermal Mass Flow Meters

FCI designs, manufactures and sells a broad line of thermal mass flow meters for air and gas flow measurement. Thermal mass flow meter technology utilizes the relationship between flow rate and cooling effect for direct measurement of mass flow.

With no moving parts and minimal invasiveness, thermal flow meters provide a highly repeatable, accurate, low cost, easy to install solution for air and gas flow measurements.  FCI provides flow meters suitable for applications in pipes and ducts, as small as 1/4 inch [6mm] to the largest of stacks.

FCI thermal mass flow meters feature precision, surface-mount, RoHS compliant electronics with industry-leading functions and communications capabilities, and with un-matched agency approvals and certifications.  Whether standard analog outputs like 4-20mA or pulse or digital bus communications of HARTFoundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS, Modbus and more, FCI has a thermal flow meter solution.

Transmitter enclosures are the industry’s most rugged and tested, and carry global agency approvals that ensure longest service life and safe operation in the most demanding process and plant applications.   You will find FCI thermal flow meters with agency approvals from FM, FMC/CSA, ATEX, IECEx, EAC, NEPSI, Inmetro and more, and the industry or country-specific pedigrees such as SIL (IEC 61508), CRN, PED, QAL 1, CEMS and more.

FCI provides several thermal mass flow meter product families and more than 20 models to meet a broad range of performance, pipe diameters, gas types, and environmental application requirements. Each FCI flow meter group can be distinctly identified by the following listed general instrument characteristics:

FCI ST Series Flow Meters

THERMAL DISPERSION AIR/GAS MASS FLOW METERS

ST50 Mass Flow Meter

The Model ST50 is a compact, low-cost solution for accurate, repeatable flow rate measurement of air, compressed air or nitrogen. This insertion-style flow meter has no moving parts and is available in probe lengths for installation into pipe diameters from 2.5 inches to 24 inches [63 mm to 610 mm]. It is easily connected into the pipe via a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch NPT compression fitting.

ST51/ST51A Mass Flow Meters

The Model ST51 and ST51A are a compact, low-cost solution for accurate, repeatable flow measurement of biogas, digester gas, landfill gas, methane, and natural gas as well as air, compressed air or nitrogen.

ST51 uses constant power thermal dispersion drive technology, with a slightly heated sensor, which uniquely provides a subtle drying effect on the sensors that result in effective measurement in moist gas applications.

ST75 Series Mass Flow Meters

The ST75 Series thermal flow meters are a compact, low-cost solution for accurate, repeatable direct mass flow measurement of air and gases. These in-line (spool-piece) style flow meters have no moving parts and are available for use in pipe diameters from 1/4 inches to 2 inches, [6 mm to 51 mm]. Process connection options include male NPT, female NPT, and flanged. These thermal flow meters feature wide 100:1 turndown and depending on pipe size, will measure from 0.01 SCFM to 559 SCFM [0,01 NCMH 950 NCMH].

ST80/ST80L Mass Flow Meters

ST80 is a high performance, rugged thermal dispersion technology air/gas flow meter that combines ultra-reliable, feature-rich electronics with the industry's most extensive selection of application-matched flow sensors to provide a truly superior solution for industrial processes and plant applications. The ST80 further combines these features with a robust, rugged transmitter enclosure and industry’s broadest selection of process connections to provide longest service life and ease-of-installation in your installation’s pipe or duct.

ST98 Mass Flow Meter

The ST98 insertion-style mass flow meter is the flow measurement solution for virtually any gas or gas mixture in line sizes from >2 inches up to 42 inches [50 mm to 1066 mm].1 With ST98, FCI combines superior, equal mass thermal-dispersion flow sensing elements and precision electronics with exacting actual fluid calibration and a choice of rugged, industrial enclosures to deliver accurate, highly repeatable flow measurement and long-lasting service for the most demanding processes.

ST98B-AN Mass Flow Meter

The ST98B-AN BASIC insertion type FlexMASSter sets a new standard for thermal mass flow meter performance, ease of use and installed value for Air or Nitrogen service. This field selectable insertion unit features an application-specific instrument package for fast ordering, simple installation and precision measurement.

ST100 Mass Flow Meters

ST100 is an all-new, thermal dispersion technology gas flow meter that combines the most feature- and function- rich electronics with the industry's most advanced flow sensors to achieve a truly state-of-the-science flow metering solution for industrial processes and plant applications.

MT100 Series Mass Flow Meters

The MT100 Series is an insertion type, multipoint thermal flow meter specifically designed for large diameter pipes, such as stacks and flues, and large rectangular ducts, such as air feed intakes and HVAC. These large pipe/duct applications are difficult for ordinary flow meters because of distorted flow profiles and lack of straight-run that can lead to inaccurate and non-repeatable flow measurements.

FCI's MT100 places up to eight (8) flow sensing points in the flow stream and averages them which results in a highly accurate and repeatable flow rate measurement. Unlike other large pipe flow meters, the MT100 has no moving parts or orifices to foul or clog. The insertion design, in the same plane, makes them an easy and lower cost solution to install.
