FLOW METER GROUP (FMG) is an engineering/manufacturing company specializing in the development and production of energy and gas measurement systems. Located in the Netherlands, FMG produces a wide range of rotary and turbine gas meters, volume conversion devices, master meters, and calibration benches.

Unique product features include self-diagnosis and tamper prevention. All products and services are certified by the Dutch NMi and comply with the latest EU and/or OIML directives.

Flow Meter Group offers a large variety of flow meters ranging from very small (25 dm3/h) up to very large (40.000 m3/h) flow rates and in pressures from atmospheric to 100 bar (1440 psi). Turbine Gas Meters

The Turbine Gas Meters are robust and designed to perform on the highest level of accuracy. All these meters are the fact they comply with all international standards and are approved for custody transfer even with the smallest possible installation length.

The actual flow sensor, an exchangeable cartridge, has a build-in multi stage flow conditioner enabling the meter to be installed with limited straight in- and outlet sections. All tested and proved according to the perturbation test as per international standards. The cartridge can be pre-calibrated, under both low and high-pressure conditions, then exchanged on-site. The cartridge is supported in O-rings and isolated from the body, hence unaffected by any influences of the housing.

Electronic Devices

FMG gas meters can be equipped (optional) with two Thermo wells and two pressure tapping points. Therefore the gas meters can be supplied and equipped with an Electronic Volume Conversion Device. FMG offers a large variety in conversion devices so all required data can be provided and the best solution for every project can be assembled.

FMG can also supply Flow Computers which provide more functions than standard volume conversion devices. The Flow Computers can be used in combination with Rotary Gas Meters or Turbine Gas Meters, so a specific solution for every type of meter can be found

Rotary Gas Meters

The FMG series of rotary gas meters are designed to meet the highest demands of reliable and accurate measurement of gas flow. The meters are MID approved and fully comply with EN12480 and OIML R137. The compact exchangeable aluminum cartridge allows local repair and on-site cleaning.

The robust design of the casing and the cartridge make the meter less sensitive to installation stresses caused by the connecting piping. A significant amount of misalignment of the connecting piping/flanges can be tolerated by the meter without affecting the meter performance by jamming the impellers.

Test Installations

The FMTB test bench series are compact test benches using air under atmospheric conditions. The test bench is designed to calibrate to a high level of accuracy in the shortest possible test time. The FMTB has equipped with high-quality sensors and instruments whose measurement results are traceable to international standards. The FMTB series units are fully automated and by reducing thermal expansion effects, the smart control makes it possible to calibrate meters in a very short time. Using a multi-channel data analyzer with a built-in clock it is possible to sample and collect data with very high accuracy. The Flow setting is performed over a frequency regulated blower in combination with regulation valves that enable fast and accurate flow regulation over a wide range at any set point.

The FMTB is pre-calibrated by FMG and ready for use. It is suitable for calibration of diaphragm meters, rotary gas meters, turbine gas meters, and ultrasonic gas meters.
