PulsesPlus bobbin-type LiSOCl2 batteries deliver high pulses. Up to 40-year operating life with very high pulses. Bobbin-Type LiSOCl2 Batteries with Hybrid Layer Capacitors (HLCs). PulsesPlusTM batteries combine a standard bobbin-type lithium thionyl chloride (LiSOCL2) cell with a patented hybrid layer capacitor (HLC).
PulsesPlus batteries are designed for wireless devices that normally require low background current to enable up to 40-year operating life, while also delivering periodic high pulses to power advanced two-way communications and/or remote shut-off capabilities.
PulsesPlus batteries feature very high capacity, high energy density, and high voltage to support product miniaturization. With an annual self-discharge rate of less than 1% per year, certain devices can operate for up to 40 years on a single battery.
PulsesPlus batteries also feature the widest possible operating temperature for long-term deployment in extreme environments. As capacity gets depleted, the battery's voltage curve plateaus. Devices can be programmed to interpret this plateau to allow for “low battery” status alerts.

In addition to bobbin-type LiSOCl2 batteries, Tadiran manufactures TLM Series lithium metal oxide grade lithium batteries for applications that require long-shelf-life and high current draw, including medical and military/aerospace applications.
Rechargeable Li-ion :
Tadiran TLI series industrial-grade rechargeable Li-ion batteries.
Consumer-grade rechargeable Li-ion batteries simply cannot handle the rigors of industrial-grade applications with their limited operating life as well as their inability to handle extreme temperatures and high pulse requirements.
TLI Series industrial-grade Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries address the inherent drawbacks of standard consumer-grade rechargeable Lithium-ion cells, which include 5-year maximum operating life and/or 500 full charging cycles, high annual self-discharge (up to 60% per year), a limited temperature range (0°C to 60°C), an inability to deliver high pulses and no possibility of recharging at extreme temperatures
TLI Series cells can be recharged using DC power or teamed with photovoltaic solar systems or other energy harvesting devices to deliver reliable long-term power. TLI Series batteries are available in standard AA and AAA configurations, and custom battery packs.
