Euro Battery Connectors

E Series

The Anderson™ family of Euro Battery Connectors (EBC) are expertly designed for ease of use and incorporate an innovative contact carrier to simplify assembly. The EBC connectors include the industry standard 80, 160, and 320 sizes, all by DIN 43589-1. Design and materials offer performance that meets or exceeds all the requirements of EN1175-1. All materials chosen are RoHS compliant and selected to ensure years of reliability in adverse industrial environments. These attributes make the EBC DIN connectors the ideal choice for a wide range of industrial applications in the Material Handling, Battery Charging, Utility Vehicles, Motive Power, and Sweeper/Scrubbers markets amongst many others.

A Series

The Anderson Power Products® 'A' Series battery connector uses the Din 43589-1 form factor which has been modified to meet requirements for North American markets. While similar in appearance to the E series it is not interminable. The “A” series connectors offer contacts and crimp tooling selections developed for both American Wire Gauge (AWG) as well as metric wires.  This series offers auxiliary wire contacts that accept a broad range of wires and are used for communication/ control applications.  Another key difference is the use of a higher temperature, higher impact-resistant plastic for applications that require these attributes. This change in plastic does not meet EN1175-1 which requires a material that offers higher resistance to Hydrofluorocarbons. The connector design incorporates an advanced, cost-effective contact carrier for ease of assembly and fewer components.  All materials are selected to ensure years of reliable service under adverse battery environments.

Saf-D-Grid®

Anderson Power Products®

Anderson Power Products® has led the connector industry in the development of DC power connection solutions since the introduction of the SB® electrical connector in 1953.  Saf-D-Grid® builds on the proven contact technology used in SB® and Powerpole® connectors by offering features required in 380-400VDC power distribution systems.  APP® developed the Saf-D-Grid® connector system as a safe appliance power connector for servers, telecommunication, and other devices up to 600 VDC.  The APP® Saf-D-Grid® plug and receptacle provide for the direct connection of AC and DC electronic devices. to a DC microgrid powered by renewable energy or high-efficiency DC sources.  The connector meets international safety requirements for hazardous, low-voltage applications including UL 950 and IEC60950. The Saf-D-Grid® is size compatible with the IEC 320C13 and C14 connection systems. It is the only connector system so sized that is UL rated for a current interrupt of up to 400 VDC and 30 amp load.  Saf-D-Grid® also enables greater power density by allowing up to 30A and 600V (disconnect) DC or AC within the same space of the IEC320 C13 & C14 system that is typically limited to 10A and 250 VAC.  This allows the use of Saf-D-Grid® in AC systems that require more power by increasing the wattage capability within the existing connector space.

SB® Series

Anderson Power Products®

Based on the design pioneered by Anderson in 1953, the two pole SB® connectors set the standard for DC power distribution and battery connections.  SB connectors feature a rugged one-piece plastic housing using stainless steel springs to retain the contacts and create the “contact force” that provides extremely low resistance enabling greater electrical efficiency. The SB connectors are also genderless (flip one 180 degrees and they will mate to each other) reducing the customer’s bill of materials and providing greater economies of scale when purchasing. The SB series of connectors range in size from SB50 to SB350. Each family size offers color-coded, mechanically keyed housings designed to prevent both visually and physically cross-mating devices with different voltages. All the connectors are UL rated to 600 volts so the keys and colors are just identifiers to prevent accidents. Contacts are traditionally Silver plated to minimize electrical resistance while offering supreme durability and reliability.

MARC Series

Anderson Power Products®

The Multi-Axial Rotational Connector “MARC” features 8 Powerpole® contacts integrated into a blind mate housing.  The connector is designed to blind mate from 2 rotating axis or straight on. The two-row, horizontally oriented connector uses our industry-leading flat wiping contacts. The MARC is rated to 29 amps per circuit and can be configured with 8 standard length contacts or 6 standard length and 2 primate, multi-purpose contacts, which can function as ground, power, or signal. The rugged connector is UL listed and rated for up to 10,000 mating cycles. The dielectric is a chemically resistant PBT plastic. APP® connectors are manufactured using the finest materials and world-class manufacturing processes. They embody the highest quality in the industry and meet all applicable industry standards.

SBE® / SBX®/ SBO® Series

Anderson Power Products®

SBE® and SBX® connectors build on the capability of the SB® connectors that handle two primary power contacts with the capacity to have up to 8 auxiliary power/signal contacts. The centers of the connector housings feature a location for either: two PP15-45 housings and contacts, an innovative 1x4 auxiliary accessory, or two PPMX housings that can accommodate up to 8 aux contacts. In addition, the housings meet IEC 60950 & IEC60529 touch-safe requirements.

Sequencing within auxiliary positions is possible using the 4 pin lengths available in the 1x4 auxiliary accessory however the auxiliary contacts mate last / un-mate first about the power contacts. While SBE® and SBX® housings offer similar capabilities, the SBE® connector housings are molded from a chemical-resistant PBT/PC blend resin allowing them to meet EN1175-1 requirements and are tested to EN1175-1 standards. SBX® are molded from a rugged PC resin that is more impact resistant and is tested to UL/CSA requirements.
